Bari & street food tour will show you the main attractions of Bari, with a particular eye to the renowned gastronomic traditions.
The meeting will be at your villa, where the guide will pick you up to take you to Bari.
Bari is the capital of Puglia is a beautiful sunny town full of tradition and charm that leans over the Adriatic Sea.
Its most popular districts are Bari Vecchia, the old town, and the elegant Murat district.
You will start the visit from the old town, dominated by the magnificent Norman-Swabian Castle fortified by Frederick II of Swabia. Among the characteristic alleys of the old city you will see the Romanesque Cathedral of San Sabino and the majestic Basilica of San Nicola, considered the heart of the town. In the Murat district, however, you can see a more elegant Bari, with its famous theaters (Petruzzelli, Piccinni and Margherita) and the Fizzarotti and Government Palaces and the Town Hall.
But perhaps the thing about Bari that will strike you the most are the gastronomic traditions. Walking through the town, in fact, you will taste its typical dishes: fried polenta (sgagliozze), the typical Bari focaccia, panzerotti (a closed fried pizza filled with mozzarella and tomato) and fresh raw fish. In the famous local markets you will find delicious food and other products, so take a large bag with you because you will definitely come back home with lots of tasty souvenirs.
