The cooking class & lunch at Masseria will allow you to discover the secrets of Apulian pasta and then taste it in a typical and fascinating place. First you will literally test yourself by putting your hands in the dough and then you will enjoy a genuine and traditional meal in a Masseria (traditional Apulian farmhouse).
Meeting point is directly in your villa, from where you will leave to reach an ancient and typical Masseria near Polignano a Mare. It is a charming location, entirely built in stone and immersed in the peaceful Apulian countryside and surrounded by centuries-old olive trees.
Here every guest, young or old, will have a dedicated work surface, equipped with a pastry board, apron and rolling pin and will be able to try their hand at cooking typical local dishes, as in the past, when the ancient massaie (housewives) prepared handmade pasta, following traditional recipes.
The Chef Domenico will lead the lesson starting with the preparation of the dough (flour, water and yeast); after that every guest will create the traditional Apulian pasta such as the “Orecchiette” (symbol of Puglia food and one of the unmissable Apulian dishes) and the “cavatelli”, produced in the past in Swabian age.
At the end of the lesson there will also be a visit to the Masseria and a relax time in the shade of the olive trees before having lunch.
Lunch will consist of tasting some typical traditional products, such as the famous EVO oil, an essential element of the Apulian cuisine, or like the cheeses of the Itria Valley. Afterwards, you will eat freshly prepared pasta, dressed with fresh seasonal sauces, all served with an excellent “Negroamaro” red wine.
At the end of the cooking class & lunch at Masseria you will be taken back to your villa.
