The Barocco Tour will introduce you to two of the most beautiful towns in Puglia: the Baroque Lecce and Ostuni, the White town.
The meeting with the guide will be directly at the villa from where you will leave for Lecce. This enchanting town, capital of Salento and also known as Florence of the South, is the town of the baroque churches and palaces, connected by alleys that form a perfect urban fabric. The historic center is enclosed by three ancient entrances: Porta Rudiae, Porta San Biagio and Porta Napoli.
You will visit the Santa Croce Cathedral and the wonderful Piazza Duomo, you will pass by the imposing Castle of Charles V, the Roman amphitheater and Piazza Sant’Oronzo, all suggestive places and which in different ways tell a piece of the history of this city.
During the walk you will also have a “sweet” break enjoying a typical sweet from Salento, the pasticciotto, made with shortcrust pastry and stuffed with custard and black cherry.
The Barocco Tour continues with the visit of Ostuni, perched on the hill from which you can enjoy an enchanting view of the sea. Ostuni is called the White Town because of the characteristic whitewashed houses of the old town. You will visit the historic center with the Romanesque and Gothic Cathedral, and you will get lost in the uphill alleys, which suddenly offer glimpses of the sea.
After Ostuni you will visit an oil mill, where extra virgin olive oil is produced, the flagship of Puglia. An expert will make you discover the oil mill with its machinery, techniques and the production process of extra virgin olive oil (EVO), from ancient times to the present day. At the end of the visit there will be a tasting of some extra virgin olive oils served with Apulian bread to enhance its flavor.
The Barocco Tour ends with the return to the villa.
