Porta Blu is a Trulli complex with space and light, with easy access to town and country, where we were able relax, or go exploring. We really enjoyed our stay. Although we used the house as a base for seeing a bit of Puglia, we also spent a lot of time relaxing in & by the pool, lounging on the outdoor couches, or sitting around the big table chatting. (Face one way, and view rolling countryside, and gorgeous Puglian dry stone walls, or the other and check out Martina Franca.) We used the excellent (easy to get going, use, and clean) BBQ several times.
There’s plenty of crockery and glasses, and the kitchen is adequately equipped, but could do with a couple of good quality chopping knives. I really appreciated the espresso machine. The beds were very comfortable, the sheets soft, and the whole place was spotless when we arrived. The showers were good, although a bit slow to get going (and work better if you slightly stagger shower times). We walked into Martina Franca centre for dinner several times. It’s a short (20 mins) but not very pleasant walk as the road is a bit too fast. We carried torches at night and walked single file. I would not walk with children. It’s very easy to drive to the edge of town (3 mins), where you can park fairly easily, and walk from there (5 mins to winding streets and lots of restaurants). Leandro (along with the rest of the team at Puglia Paradise) was brilliant: professional, friendly, really helpful (going out of his way more than once). Thanks again Leandro!
